Wow, it’s been a while… I’ve been super busy with art school, I’m now halfway through the third and last year of my degree, and we just had the end of semester show. I’ve been having a lot of fun painting on panels of flannel sheets with runny paint, the results are always a surprise and I really love them. I’ve been posting a lot of photos of my process on Instagram. I’m on study break right now and I have 4 weeks to come up with a project (the big one…) for next semester.
In other, non-arty, news, I am now a published author (barely) and it still doesn’t quite feel real. I finally settled on a pen name, made an author page & profile on Facebook and an author account on Instagram, Goodreads and Bookbub as well. I’m still very new at this “proper” author thing and I have a LOT to learn.
I have a short story in a multi-author (9 of us) anthology called Hot Summer Nights. It is published by The Romance Cafe (my favourite group on Facebook), and came out in early June. All proceeds are going to charity. The Romance Cafe had previously published a Spring romance collection called Love in Bloom.
My heroine is Layla Newell, 39 year old divorced mum of two. She’s dropping her kids and parents off at the airport early one Friday morning when she bumps into former rugby player Beckett Williams, whom she’d been crushing on for years. The two strike a conversation and he asks her to come with him to Fiji for a week, no strings attached, no expectations…

I have plans to expend that story when I get the rights back next year and in the meantime I’ve been working on other stories. More seasoned romance…
I’ll try to update again soon!!!
