GDPR COMPLIANCE

If you subscribed to my blog prior to May 2018, this law was not enacted and therefore any email subscribers, comments or anything that used cookies was done and obtained legally.  It would be up to you to unsubscribe to my blog, and delete any of your comments that you made in the past. Although as I understand it, cookies and information have already been collected, as was legal at the time throughout the world.

Post May 2018, any cookies on my website are used to ensure normal website functions (for instance, Youtube videos won’t work without their own identifiers). These cookies cannot be switched off because the website wouldn’t work properly anymore. However, these identifiers do not store any personal data. Learn more about how WordPress uses your data.

When you leave a comment, WordPress stores your gravatar name, IP Address, comment, and email address. Therefore, leaving a comment is considered a clear affirmative, specific, and unambiguous action as defined by the GDPR giving me consent to store this information, and permission to contact you in the future by email. Unless you sign up for updates via email for my blog, I will not personally email you fo any reason beyond that. Honestly WordPress does this automatically when you subscribe.  I have no control over this.

Your personal information will not be sold or shared with any third parties under any circumstances. Your information shall be retained until you unsubscribe from my blog.   If you feel your data has been misused, you have a right to complain to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (HDPA). If you do not consent to the above, please don’t leave a comment.

But please understand again, that your personal information will not be sold or shared with any third parties under any circumstances. If after understanding how GDPR works  you decide that you do not consent to the above, please don’t leave a comment on my blog. Once you do, you are consenting to what has been described above.
